12 Days in Morocco: good to know
Enough time for a full loop
Twelve days lets you link Marrakech, the Sahara and Fes without rushing, with a rest day or a hike between the long drives.
Stop halfway to the desert
We never drive Marrakech to Merzouga or Merzouga to Fes in one go without reason. A night in the Dades or in Midelt turns a long road into two good days.
Mix the ways you move
Use the extra days for something different: a two-day trek in the High Atlas, a kayak at Bin el Ouidane or a surf lesson on the Atlantic.
Choose your airports wisely
Flying into Casablanca or Fes and out of Marrakech or Agadir saves you a day of driving back.
12 Days in Morocco: questions travellers ask
How to spend 12 days in Morocco?
Most travellers combine Marrakech, the Sahara at Merzouga and Fes, with a hike in the gorges and a day in Chefchaouen or the Atlas. If you prefer fewer drives, base yourself around Marrakech, the High Atlas and the coast, with a desert night in Agafay.
Is 12 days enough for Morocco?
Twelve days is enough to see the main highlights at a comfortable pace: the imperial cities, the desert, the mountains and some time on the coast. You will not see every region, but you will not spend every day in the car either.
What is the best 12 day Morocco itinerary?
For a first trip, the loop from Marrakech through the kasbahs, the Sahara, the Middle Atlas and Fes gives the most variety. If you land in Casablanca, a loop from there through Chefchaouen and Fes works just as well.
Is a 12 day Morocco family vacation a good idea?
Yes, with short drives and one big activity a day. A balloon, the Agafay desert, mule walks in the Atlas and the beaches of Essaouira all suit children well.
Can I combine 12 days in Spain and Morocco?
Many travellers do. Ferries cross from Tarifa to Tangier in about an hour; for the Morocco part, we can meet you at the port and plan the route from there.
How much does a 12 day trip to Morocco cost?
Our trips are private and priced on request. The price depends on the number of travellers, the season, the hotels and the activities you choose.
When is the best time for 12 days in Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant for the desert, the cities and the mountains. Summer is very hot in the Sahara; winter is sunny, but desert nights are cold and the Atlas can have snow.
Are these 12-day tours private?
Yes. Every itinerary on this page is a private tour for you and your travel companions, on the dates you choose.
