Six ways to spend twenty days – close to three weeks – in Morocco, at an easy pace, with rest days and something active almost every day. Updated October 2026 · by our local team in Morocco
Planning 20 days in morocco? Twenty days is when Morocco stops being a rush. You can sleep in the Sahara and still have time for the blue lanes of Chefchaouen, the medina of Fes, a trek in the High Atlas and waves on the Atlantic. Some routes below take the classic loop; others head for quieter places such as the Anti-Atlas around Tafraoute, the red cliffs of Legzira or the green valleys of the central Atlas. Every one has rest days built in – and we change any of them to fit you.

20 Days in Morocco: good to know
Plan a rest day every five or six days
On a trip this long, a free day by a pool or in a quiet riad makes the next week better. Our 20-day routes put them in Fes, at the dunes or by the sea.
Stay two nights where it matters
Two nights in Fes, at the desert, in the mountains and on the coast mean fewer suitcases to pack and more time on foot.
Go beyond the classic loop
Twenty days leaves room for places most tours skip: the central Atlas, Taroudant, Tafraoute or the red cliffs of Legzira.
One-way saves days
Arriving in Tangier or Casablanca and leaving from Marrakech or Agadir avoids driving the same road twice.
20 Days in Morocco: questions travellers ask
Is 20 days in Morocco too long?
No. Twenty days lets you see the north, the Sahara, the mountains and the coast at a relaxed pace, with rest days. Many travellers say the second and third weeks are the best, once the rhythm of the country feels familiar.
What is the best 20 day Morocco itinerary?
For a first visit, a route from Casablanca or Tangier through Chefchaouen and Fes, the Sahara, the gorges and the High Atlas, ending in Marrakech and Essaouira, shows the most variety. If you have been before, the south-west – Taroudant, Tafraoute and Legzira – or the central Atlas are quieter choices.
How should I spend 3 weeks in Morocco?
Split the time between regions: about four or five days in the north and Fes, four in the desert and the gorges, three or four in the High Atlas and Marrakech, and the rest on the coast. Keep two or three days free for rest.
How much does a 3 week trip to Morocco cost?
Our trips are private and priced on request. The price depends on the number of travellers, the season, the comfort level of the riads and the activities you choose. Send us your dates and we reply with a clear price.
Is a road trip in Morocco for 3 weeks a good idea?
Yes – Morocco is made for road trips, from the Atlas passes to the coast. With your own driver you can enjoy the views, stop when you like and avoid the long, tiring days behind the wheel.
Can I start a 20 day Morocco tour in Casablanca?
Yes. Casablanca has the most international flights. A 20-day loop can start and end there, or you can fly home from Marrakech or Agadir.
When is the best time for 20 days in Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) suit every region. In summer the desert and the south are very hot, and in winter the High Atlas has snow and the desert nights are cold.
Are these 20-day tours private?
Yes. Every itinerary on this page is a private tour for you and your travel companions, on the dates you choose, and any day can be changed.
