10 Days in Morocco: good to know
Two regions in depth, or four in a rush
With 10 days you can combine the Sahara with the imperial cities, or the desert with the mountains and the coast. Trying to add everything – north, desert, Atlas and ocean – leaves most of the trip in the car.
Choose your airports first
Flying into Casablanca, Tangier or Fes and out of Marrakech (or the other way) avoids driving the same road twice and gives you one more day to enjoy.
Break the long desert drives
Merzouga is 7 to 10 hours from Fes or Marrakech. On 10 days there is room to split those drives with a night in Midelt, the Dades or Aït Benhaddou instead of one long push.
Keep one easy day
After the desert, a slower day – a pool, a hammam or a free afternoon in a medina – keeps the energy up for the last part of the trip. Every trip on this page is private, so we place it where you need it.

Is 10 days enough for Morocco?
Ten days is a very good length for a first trip. You can sleep in the Sahara, visit Fes or Marrakech properly and add the mountains or the coast without long drives every day. To cover the north, the desert, the Atlas and the coast together, 12 to 14 days is more relaxed.
What is the best 10-day Morocco itinerary?
For a first visit, the classic route runs from Casablanca or Tangier through Chefchaouen and Fes, crosses the Middle Atlas to the Sahara and returns through the gorges and kasbahs to Marrakech. If you fly in and out of Marrakech, a loop to the desert, the High Atlas and Essaouira is the best fit.
Can I do 10 days in Morocco from Marrakech?
Yes. From Marrakech, a 10-day loop can reach Merzouga in two days via Aït Benhaddou and the gorges, spend a night in a desert camp, come back through the High Atlas and finish with a night or two in Essaouira.
What is a good 10 day itinerary from Casablanca?
Start with the Hassan II Mosque, then go north to Rabat and Chefchaouen, visit Volubilis and Fes, cross to the Sahara and return through the Dades and Todra gorges to Marrakech. If you need a round trip, come back through Fes and Rabat instead.

When is the best time to spend 10 days in Morocco?
March to May and September to November are best for a route that mixes cities, desert and mountains. Summer is very hot in the south, while winter brings cold desert nights and snow on the high passes.
