5 Days in Morocco: good to know
One region, not all of Morocco
Five days is ideal to really live one part of Morocco – the desert, the north, the mountains or the coast. Trying to see everything means spending most of the trip in the car.
The Sahara needs two days of road
Merzouga is 9 to 10 hours from Marrakech, so desert tours split the drive over two days with kasbahs and gorges on the way. For a desert evening without the long drive, choose the Agafay desert near Marrakech.
Fly in and out of different cities
Arriving in Marrakech and leaving from Fes (or the other way) saves a full day of driving.
Private, on your dates
Every trip on this page is a private tour for you and your travel companions, on the dates you choose – and every day can be changed.
5 Days in Morocco: questions travellers ask
Is 5 days enough for Morocco?
Yes, if you focus on one or two regions. In 5 days you can sleep in the Sahara and see the kasbahs and gorges, or visit the imperial cities of the north, or combine Marrakech, the Atlas Mountains and the coast. For the desert and the imperial cities together, 7 days or more is more comfortable.
What is the best 5-day itinerary in Morocco?
For a first visit, Marrakech, a day in the High Atlas and Essaouira gives the most variety with short drives. If the Sahara is your dream, the 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga is the classic choice. Flying into Fes or Marrakech and out of the other city lets you cross the country without driving back.
Can you visit the Sahara desert in 5 days from Marrakech?
Yes. Merzouga is about 9 to 10 hours from Marrakech by road, so a 5-day tour splits the drive over two days with stops at Aït Benhaddou, the Dades Valley and the Todra Gorge, spends one or two nights in a desert camp, and comes back through Ouarzazate.
How much does a 5-day trip to Morocco cost?
Our 5-day trips are private and priced on request: the price depends on the number of travellers, the season, the hotels you choose and the activities. Tell us your dates and we send you a clear price.
What can I do in Morocco in 5 days with kids?
Choose short drives and big adventures: a hot air balloon, camels and quads in the Agafay desert with a night in a camp, the Ourika waterfalls and a cooking class, all within about an hour of Marrakech.
How do I do a 5-day Morocco tour from Spain?
Take the ferry from Tarifa or Algeciras to Tangier. From there a 5-day route can visit Chefchaouen, Volubilis and Fes, spend a night in the Sahara at Merzouga and finish in Marrakech, where you can fly home.
When is the best time for 5 days in Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most pleasant. In summer the desert and the south are very hot, so the coast and the mountains are better; in winter the days are sunny but desert nights are cold.
Are these tours private?
Yes. Every itinerary on this page is a private tour on the dates you choose, and we change it to suit you.
