8 Days in Morocco: good to know
Two regions, done well
Eight days is enough to pair the Sahara with the imperial cities, or the desert with the Atlantic coast. Adding a third region is possible, but it means several long days on the road.
Break up the desert road
Merzouga is a full day’s drive from both Marrakech and Fes. On these routes we stop for the night in Aït Benhaddou, Skoura or the Dades Valley, so every driving day also has a walk, a ride or a visit.
Leave one slow morning
A free afternoon in Marrakech, a late breakfast in a riad or a hammam after the desert keeps the trip feeling like a holiday, not a race.
Your own trip, your own dates
Each route here is private: your driver and guides, the start day you choose, and a plan that changes if you want more desert, more walking or more rest.
8 Days in Morocco: questions travellers ask
Is 8 days enough for Morocco?
Eight days is a good length for a first visit. You can combine the Sahara with Fes or with the coast, or cross the country from Tangier or Casablanca to Marrakech. You will not see everything, so choose two main regions and enjoy them properly.
What is the best 8 days in Morocco itinerary?
For a first trip, a loop from Marrakech over the High Atlas to the dunes of Merzouga and back is the classic choice. If you can fly out of Fes, the crossing from Marrakech to Fes through the desert avoids driving the same road twice.
Can I do an 8 day Morocco tour from Casablanca?
Yes. From Casablanca you can visit Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis and Fes, then cross the Middle Atlas to the Sahara and finish in Marrakech. If you prefer shorter drives, a round trip along the coast to Essaouira, Marrakech and the High Atlas also works well.
How do I spend 8 days in Morocco coming from Tangier?
Take the ferry from Tarifa or Algeciras to Tangier. Spend two nights in Chefchaouen, two in Fes, two by the dunes of Merzouga, one in the Dades Valley, and finish in Marrakech for your flight home.
Can I add Essaouira to 8 days in Morocco?
Yes. Essaouira is 2.5 to 3 hours from Marrakech, so eight days can include a night in the Sahara and two nights by the sea. Surf, kitesurf and beach rides make the coast an active part of the trip.
How much does an 8-day tour of Morocco cost?
Our 8-day trips are private and priced on request. The price depends on the number of travellers, the season, the riads and camps you choose and the activities. Send us your dates and we reply with a clear price.
When is the best time for 8 days in Morocco?
March to May and September to November are the most pleasant for the desert, the cities and the mountains. Summer is very hot inland, so the coast and the High Atlas are better then; winter is sunny by day but cold at night in the Sahara.
Are these 8-day tours private?
Yes. Every itinerary on this page is a private tour for you and your travel companions, on the dates you choose, and we adapt it to you.
