Morocco Honeymoon

What to expect, example itineraries and answers from our local team Updated October 2026

A Morocco honeymoon gives you very different moods in one trip: candle-lit courtyards in the old medinas, the silence of the Sahara at night, the Atlantic wind in Essaouira and snowy Atlas peaks on the horizon. Nothing is shared with strangers unless you want it to be. You travel as a couple with your own driver-guide, sleep in places chosen for their charm, and keep the evenings free for each other.

Honeymoon in Morocco does not have to mean doing nothing. Many couples mix quiet mornings with a sunrise balloon flight, a camel ride into the dunes or a cooking class for two. Tell us how active you want to be and which kind of rooms you like; we suggest a route, the hotels and the special moments, and confirm everything with you.

In short

A Morocco honeymoon combines romantic riads in Marrakech or Fes, a night in a comfortable desert camp under the stars and slow days by the ocean or in the mountains. We plan it as a private trip for the two of you, with your own driver-guide and the pace you choose.

Why choose Morocco honeymoon

  • Riads made for two A riad is a house built around a private courtyard, often with a fountain and a roof terrace. Many have only a few rooms, so they feel calm and intimate.
  • A night alone in the desert Sleeping near the dunes of Erg Chebbi, or in the Agafay desert close to Marrakech, is a moment couples remember for life. We can ask for a private tent and a dinner set apart, on request.
  • Romance without long flights For travellers from Europe, Morocco is a short flight away, so more of your holiday is spent together and less in airports.
  • Your pace, every day With a private driver-guide there is no early group call. Sleep in, add a pool afternoon or stay longer at a sunset viewpoint.
  • Easy to combine Desert, mountains, cities and the ocean fit into one trip of a week or two. We help you choose what suits the season and your style.

How to plan Morocco honeymoon

Do less, stay longer

Two nights in most places makes a honeymoon feel relaxed rather than rushed. We avoid early starts unless they are worth it, like a balloon or a desert sunrise.

Choose your rooms carefully

Tell us if you want a private plunge pool, a big bathtub or a room with a view. Riads differ a lot, so we suggest specific rooms and confirm availability with you.

Best season for a honeymoon

March to May and late September to November are the most comfortable for both the desert and the cities. Summer is very hot in the Sahara; winter is sunny but cold at night.

Booking and surprises

Prices are on request and depend on hotels, season and length. Let us know about the honeymoon when booking – we ask the hotels and camps what they can prepare, without promising what they cannot confirm.

Morocco Honeymoon: your questions

Is Morocco good for a honeymoon?

Yes. Morocco offers romantic riads, desert nights, mountains and beaches within a short distance, and it is close to Europe. With a private driver-guide, the trip stays relaxed and personal.

What are the best places for a Morocco honeymoon?

Marrakech for riads and gardens, Merzouga for a night in the dunes, Fes for the old medina and Essaouira for the sea. Agafay is a good desert option if you have only a few days.

How many days do you need for a honeymoon in Morocco?

Seven to ten days is ideal for a city, the Sahara and a few slow days. With two weeks you can add the coast or the mountains.

What is the best time for a Morocco honeymoon?

Spring and autumn are the most pleasant. Avoid the desert in July and August if you do not like strong heat.

Do you offer Morocco honeymoon packages?

We do not sell fixed packages. We build a private trip around your dates, budget and wishes, and send you a proposal with a price on request.

Is Morocco safe for a honeymoon couple?

Morocco is generally a safe and welcoming country for couples. Normal care is enough, and your driver-guide is with you on the road and can advise you in the cities.

Can we sleep in a private desert camp on our honeymoon in Morocco?

Yes. We book luxury camps in Erg Chebbi or Agafay with private tents and bathrooms, and we ask for special touches like a private dinner. What is possible depends on the camp and the date.

Do unmarried couples have problems in Moroccan hotels?

In practice, foreign couples share a room in Moroccan hotels and riads without being asked for a marriage certificate. If one partner holds Moroccan nationality, hotels may ask for one – tell us when you book and we choose the places to stay with you.
