Morocco Family Tours

What to expect, example itineraries and answers from our local team Updated October 2026

Morocco family tours work best when the adults get culture and the kids get adventure on the same day. Children remember the camel ride, the mule up a mountain path and the sand slide down a dune; parents remember the kasbahs, the mint tea with a Berber family and the quiet desert evening. Our job is to fit both into days that never feel too long for small legs.

There are two ways to travel with us. A private family trip follows your dates, your children’s ages and your speed. Our 10-day family trip is a small group tour where several families share one guide, so the kids make friends on the road. Below you will find the routes we suggest and what to think about before you book.

In short

Morocco family tours are trips paced for parents and children, with short drives, one big highlight a day and hotels that suit families. You can travel privately with your own driver-guide on your dates, or join our small group family trip with other families.

Why choose Morocco family tours

  • Moroccans love children Families are at the heart of Moroccan life, and travelling with kids often opens doors. Children get smiles, small gifts of bread and easy conversations everywhere.
  • Adventure without extreme sport Camels, mules, dunes and easy gorge walks feel like big adventures but suit most ages. We match each activity to your children’s age and energy.
  • Short drives with real stops We split long routes with breaks for snacks, photos and a run around. Your guide knows where the clean toilets and the good orange juice are.
  • Rooms and pools that work for families We choose riads and hotels with family rooms or connecting rooms where possible, and a pool when the season calls for one.
  • Private or with other families Choose a private trip for full flexibility, or our family group tour if your kids would enjoy company their own age.

How to plan Morocco family tours

Keep the days short

With young children, plan no more than one long drive every two or three days. Add a rest afternoon at a pool after each big travel day.

Choose family-friendly stays

Riads are charming but some have steep stairs and open courtyards. Tell us your children’s ages and we choose places that are safe and practical for them.

Travel in the school holidays wisely

Spring and October half-term are ideal. In July and August, focus on the mountains and the coast and keep the desert short, because the heat is strong.

Booking and prices

Prices are on request and depend on the number of adults and children, rooms and season. For school holidays, ask early so we can hold family rooms.

Morocco Family Tours: your questions

Are Morocco family tours suitable for young children?

Yes, when the pace is right. We keep drives short, plan breaks and choose activities like camel rides and mule treks that suit small children. Tell us their ages and we adapt each day.

Is Morocco good for families with kids?

Yes. Moroccans are very welcoming to children and the country offers desert, mountains and beaches in one trip. Good planning around heat and driving times makes all the difference.

Is Morocco safe for kids?

Morocco is generally a safe and friendly destination for families. The usual care applies: watch for traffic in the medinas, use sun protection and drink bottled or filtered water.

What is the best age for Morocco family tours?

Families travel with us with babies and with teenagers. Around six and older, children can enjoy most activities; with toddlers we plan more rest and shorter visits.

What is the best time for a family holiday in Morocco?

Spring and autumn are the most comfortable. Winter is fine with warm clothes for desert nights, and summer works best in the mountains and on the coast.

Do Morocco family tours include the Sahara desert?

Most of our family routes include one or two nights near the dunes of Merzouga, or a night in the Agafay desert close to Marrakech for shorter trips.

How long should a family trip to Morocco be?

Seven to ten days is a good length with children, because it leaves time to rest. With two weeks you can add the coast or the north without rushing.

Can we join a group tour with other families in Morocco?

Yes. Our 10-day family trip is a small group tour where several families travel together with one guide, so children have friends their own age.
