Paragliding in Morocco: Tandem Flights Over the Atlas & the Atlantic
Paragliding Morocco with licensed local pilots: tandem flights over the Atlas foothills near Marrakech or the coast near Agadir. No experience needed.
Paragliding Morocco
Paragliding Morocco style means a quiet tandem flight with a licensed local pilot, sitting in a comfortable harness while the wing carries you over red hills, villages and valleys. You need no experience: the pilot steers, you run a few steps at take-off and then simply enjoy the view. Near Marrakech the flights are over the Atlas foothills; on the coast they follow the cliffs and beaches of the Atlantic.
We organise paragliding Marrakech and Agadir flights with licensed local pilots and their equipment, and we take care of the transfer, the timing and any change of plan. Paragliding depends completely on the wind, so the pilot chooses the site and the hour on the day. Availability depends on the season and conditions – we confirm everything with you before you travel.
Best seasonAutumn to spring, flights possible most of the year
Why choose paragliding flights in Morocco
Two very different landscapes
Fly over the dry hills and Berber villages of the Atlas foothills, or along the ocean cliffs near Agadir. Both are easy to add to a classic Morocco trip.
No training needed
On a tandem flight the pilot does the flying. You get a short briefing, a few running steps at take-off, and then you can relax and take photos.
Big views, little effort
From the air you see the shape of the valleys, the terraces and the coastline in a way no road or trail can show you.
Fits into a short stay
A flight takes half a day at most, so it fits between a city day in Marrakech and a surf session or a desert trip.
Local pilots who know the wind
We work with licensed local pilots who fly these sites often and decide on the day where and when it is safe to take off.
Who is paragliding in Morocco for?
First-timers
Most of our guests have never flown before. A tandem flight is the usual first step into paragliding, and the pilot is with you the whole time.
Couples and friends
Each person flies with their own pilot, one after the other, so you can film each other’s take-off and landing.
Surf travellers on the coast
If you are staying in Taghazout or Agadir, a coastal flight on a flat day is a good change from the waves.
Adventure lovers on a Marrakech break
A flight in the foothills adds something different to a city stay. It is not suitable for people with serious back, neck or heart problems, or during pregnancy.

Useful information for paragliding in Morocco
How a tandem flight works
You fly in a two-seat harness with the pilot behind you. After a short briefing you run a few steps downhill with the pilot until the wing lifts you. Landings are usually gentle: you lift your legs or run a few steps, as the pilot tells you.
Wind and weather
Paragliding only happens in the right wind and good visibility. The pilot may move the flight to another hour, another site or another day. Plan your flight early in your stay so there is time for a new date if needed.
Health, age and weight
Pilots usually set a weight range and a minimum age, and may refuse passengers who are pregnant or have back, neck or heart problems. Tell us your age, weight and any health issue when you ask so we can confirm with the pilot.
Getting to the take-off
Take-off sites are often reached by car on a rough track, sometimes followed by a short walk. We arrange the transfer from your hotel in Marrakech, Agadir or Taghazout.
Photos and videos
Many pilots can film the flight with a camera on a pole or on the wing. Ask us when booking – phones should stay in a zipped pocket or on a secure strap.
Before you book
- Health
- Not recommended during pregnancy or with back, neck or heart problems – please tell us before booking.
- Weight and age
- Pilots usually have a weight range and a minimum age – send us your weight and the ages of children so we can confirm.
- Weather
- Flights depend on the wind, so book early in your stay to leave room for another day.
- Fitness
- You need to be able to run a few steps at take-off and walk a short distance on rough ground.
Best time for paragliding in Morocco
Pilots can fly near Marrakech and on the Atlantic coast most of the year, whenever the wind is right. Autumn, winter and spring are the most pleasant: clear air in the Atlas and mild days on the coast. In mid-summer flights near Marrakech are kept to the cooler hours, and strong wind can cancel flights in any season.
