Things to Do in Agadir
Top 10, unique ideas and local tips from our team Updated October 2026
There are more things to do in Agadir than lying on the beach – although the long bay of golden sand is a fine place to start. The city sits where the Atlantic meets the foothills of the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas, with sunshine nearly all year. Within half an hour you reach the surf villages of Taghazout and Tamraght, and within an hour you are swimming in the rock pools of Paradise Valley.
Agadir was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1960, so it feels modern and relaxed, with wide avenues, a marina and a seafront promenade. Our guides use it as a base for active days: surf, paddle, jet ski, boat trips, paragliding and quad rides, mixed with markets, argan cooperatives and quiet coastal villages further north.
The best things to do in Agadir are a walk on the beach promenade, the view from the Kasbah of Agadir Oufella, a surf or paddle lesson at Taghazout and Tamraght, a boat trip or jet ski from the marina, and a half day in Paradise Valley. Add Souk El Had market, paragliding on the coast and a day trip to the surf village of Imsouane.

Agadir with kids
There are many things to do in Agadir with kids. The bay is wide and usually calmer than the surf beaches, so it is good for paddling and sandcastles, and the promenade is easy with a pushchair. Children love a boat trip from the marina, a first surf or paddle lesson in Tamraght, the rock pools of Paradise Valley and a short quad ride with an adult. Keep one quiet beach day between activities.
Best time to visit Agadir
Agadir is pleasant all year, with mild winters and sea breezes in summer. November, December and January are popular: days are usually sunny and around 20°C, nights are cool and the sea needs a wetsuit, which is also the season of the best surf. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable months for every activity.
